International one-man solution based in Dubai for your video production requirements, able to fly anywhere with light equipment

After working in lighting and sound at nightclubs, Rupert Chesman started working in video production in London, quickly establishing himself as a strong Production Manager with a useful hands-on knowledge of technical requirements. He moved to Dubai in 2005 to work as a Producer full time, and built up a strong portfolio of clients, including Toyota, Nokia & Visa, as well as local Dubai-based clients such as Tatweer, RTA and du.

A strong interest in photography brought him closer to the camera, and now he works as a "one-man-band" producer, cameraman and editor, using all the skills from the past decade of work to provide beautiful videos using minimal crews and equipment. A strong linguistic ability is also a significant advantage when filming abroad.

Equipment
Everything that was used to make the showreel

Shooting is completed on a Canon EOS 5D mkII, with video tripod and Zacuto eyepiece mount. For audio he uses a Zoom H4n audio recorder and microphone, and for interviews he also has a portable teleprompter that works in all alphabets he can read, namely English, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Arabic, Greek and some Cyrillic. A glide track provides beautiful tracking shots. Additional equipment is easily available on request.

Editing is usually completed on FinalCut Pro, Motion 5.0 and colour graded in Color, and performed in a mixture of environments, including one memorable event where the only available seating was a bean bag, with 30 minutes to deliver the full video.

International shoots can be complicated, and these complications, as well as transportation and catering costs, increase exponentially with a larger crew. Based in the major international hub of Dubai, Rupert is an easy flight away from both Europe and Asia, and in 2011 completed shoots in the British Virgin Islands, Finland and Bermuda, as well as a number of shoots in Dubai & the UAE. Accommodation has varied from beautiful 5-star hotels in Dubai to campsites in the Dead Cities in Syria.

Costs
What is this all going to cost me?

Every production varies, and it is impossible to provide a rate card that will cover every eventuality. Please e-mail any requests for quotations for a swift reply. For international shoots the client must arrange the return flight from Dubai, accommodation and any visa that may be required for a British citizen.
