Full HD 1920x1080
Everything you see on this site was shot on the Canon EOS 5D mkII, a digital SLR camera with full HD video recording ability. This camera can shoot at PAL and NTSC frame rates of 25 & 30 frames per second, with a resolution of 1920 x 1080. This is the standard resolution for HD broadcast, and is generally the resolution of most "HD Ready" televisions. The camera films on 16 gb CompactFlash memory cards, which can hold approximately 44 minutes of HD footage per card, with a limit of approximately 11-12 minutes for each individual shot.
Videos can be delivered in a number of different ways, including on a memory stick, DVD or upload to the internet. When the video is created as a standard DVD, it is reduced in resolution to PAL quality, which is a resolution of 720 x 404. It can also be exported to a full HD quality file if required. Files are uploaded to YouTube at the maximum resolution possible.
Everything is filmed at 25fps as standard, which is the standard PAL/SECAM frame rate for Europe, Middle East, Africa, Most of East Asia, Australasia, and parts of Latin America. Filming can be also completed in the NTSC frame rate of 30fps, for countries which include North & Central America, parts of Latin America, Philippines, Japan & South Korea.
The EOS 5D mkII creates .mov files in the H264/MPEG4 file format, which can be converted to ProRes if required.
